The ‘Statistical Year Book’ provides a wide range of statistical information emerged from the latest surveys, censuses and administrative records of departments and agencies, at one place with the statistics broadly encompassing demographic, socio-economic, production and macroeconomic sectors. It presents important social and economic data pertaining to the State of Telangana in a succinct yet comprehensive form of statistical tables. The data presented herein is obtained from a number of sources spreading across twenty eight sectors.

Telangana State Government Departments like Health, Climate, Agriculture, Irrigation, Livestock and Fisheries, Forests, Industries, Mining, Energy, Transport and Communication, Public Finance, State Economy, Joint Stock Companies, Banking, Prices, Labor and Employment, Social Security, Education, Economic Census, Local Bodies, Judicial, Police and Crime, Tourism etc.

This portal is being maintained withintent to make the information more useful for the government departments,research scholars, students and other public. The Statistical Year Book will serve as a valuable resource for administrators, Policymakers and Social Researchers and be an effective tool in making evidence-based decisions. Last but not the least; we look forward to innovative ideas from the users of the data to enhance its value and to present the data in a more meaningful way.

Every effort is being made to ensure that the information presented in the web portal is comprehensive, clear and up to date. Respective departments/organizations of the Telangana state shall verify and upload data on the portal by the authorized user of the department. However, we continue to strive further improve the coverage, quality, suggestions and comments in this regard are most welcome.

The Information will be collected from various departments of the Telangana state having multiple numbers of data sourcesfor preparation of the statistical year book as follows: Data entry through the portal login By direct input capturing method i.e data entry where there is no ready-made computerized system for the sectors from the lowest level of office like Village or Mandal to generate location wise drill-down reports to unit level. By uploading the required data using portal login By porting data in the pre-defined formats by downloading from the statistical year book web portal. Using web services/ APIs if the department ready to provide By consuming web services/APIs if provided by the department.Data sharing is possible only when the respective department provides web service/API for consuming required data as each department/sector may contain abundant repositories of information hence selecting just needed information from an existing application will be a great challenge.

Since registration or login is only designed for department/sector users, any department/sector user can contact respective department coordinator to resolve their issues. Each department/sector should identify users at various levels for data entry, approval and data administration. Department/sectorshall be responsible for the operation of the software package and in putting them to effective use, regular data updating and implementation of the software.

All department/sectors of the Telangana state shall be informed using official correspondence to enter/upload the data in the prescribed format as per the timelines defined by the state planning department. The same schedule will be available on the web portal.

As per the defined schedule, village user will start the data entry for all the sectors and submits it to the Mandal for the approval. Mandal user will approve the data submitted by village level users. If Mandal user approves the data it goes to district level. Mandal level user can update/modify the village level data if there is any correction required in the submitted report. District user will approve the data submitted by the Mandal level users. If district user approves the data it goes to the head of the department of respective sector. District level user can update/modify the Mandal level data if there is any correction required in the submitted report. Respective Head of Department will approve the data submitted by the district user. If the data is approved it goes to Planning Department. HOD can update/modify the data submitted by village/Mandal/district if there is any correction required in the submitted report. Any data submitted will not be modified once it is approved at next higher level. Planning department will freeze all the data received from various sourcesfor the year and publish statistical year book.

The ownership of stored data, transactional data, content data, validations and business rules/ functional requirements belongs to the user department only.

Statistical Year Book is an annual publication only. Concerned departments can be directly contacted for any current details or for any further information. In case you find a particular report or content inaccurate in nature you can report by selecting concerned department or sector. Once reported, particular report will be reviewed and corrected if any discrepancy found by concerned officer of that department.
